Bonsai for Beginners introduces the art of training miniature trees—a practice that blends horticulture with Japanese aesthetics. Bonsai are not just potted plants; they are carefully shaped, living representations of natural landscapes. Techniques such as pruning, wiring, and controlled fertilizing have been used for more than a thousand years to maintain their small size and form.
In this beginner-friendly lecture with instructor demonstrations (no hands-on activities), you’ll learn the essentials: bonsai history, basic techniques, how to choose a plant and pot, and tips for maintaining bonsai in a desert climate. A Q&A session will follow for any additional questions.
