Learn Ikebana, traditional Japanese flower art, outside in the beauty of the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix. Led by master Ikebana teacher, Ping Wei, you will learn essential Japanese flower arranging techniques, aesthetics, and the meanings of flowers to make your own arrangement with us.
Workshop contents: Discussion of the principles of ikebana used in the class Demonstration of arranging using said principles and various flower arrangement examples Guests arrange their own creations Ping Wei sensei conducts an interactive evaluation and discussion of all arrangements to help everyone further their understanding of Ikebana aesthetics.
You will need to bring your own suiban (shallow water basin) and kensan (floral frog) for this workshop. If you are unable to bring these items, you may purchase them at our gift shop.
