About the Event

Are you passionate about Japanese gardens and eager to learn through hands-on experience? Join us for a special Open House & Orientation introducing our upcoming Garden Apprentice Program – Niwashi Dō! 

 

What is Niwashi Dō? 

Niwashi Dō (庭師道) means “The Way of the Gardener.” This hands-on volunteer training program teaches you how to care for the Japanese Friendship Garden using authentic tools, techniques, and practices from Japan. Along the way, you’ll also learn mindfulness, patience, and the philosophy that shapes Japanese gardens. 

 

At the Open House and Orientation, you’ll:
