Join Ed King, who has created award-winning compost and is a longtime composting enthusiast, for an engaging and hands-on workshop. Ed has generously shared his knowledge with the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix for over 15 years, helping to develop sustainable composting practices that enrich the garden’s ecosystem.
The workshop will begin with Ben Schrepf, Garden Curator, introducing the concepts of Japanese gardens. Following the introduction, Ed will share the story of how he developed his own simple, effective, and practical compost recipe and method. Participants will then follow along step by step as he demonstrates techniques for turning garden waste into nutrient-rich compost.
