Garden Tours
PLAN YOUR VISIT
Are you curious about the 4 separate landscapes of the Garden, our sister city, Himeji, or the ins and outs of our stroll garden? Walk-in tours at the Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix have resumed and are available on a first come, first serve basis every week. One of our knowledgeable docent tour guides will show you through the entire Garden for a 30-40 minute tour (depending on how curious you are!) and give you the inside look at how to appreciate Rohoen’s intricate and detailed art form. All ages welcome!

Group Tours & Private Workshops
Consider a group tour for your office or classroom, or a private cultural workshop.
Wednesday - Friday, September - May
Select any time between 9:30am - 2:30pm.
$17 per adult, includes full admission
$14 per person for K - college school classrooms, clubs, and non-profits
Prices will vary when adding a private workshop.
Docent-led private group tours are 45 minutes to 1 hour long. Submit your desired group tour details below and we will respond promptly with more details. Your reservation is not final until you receive confirmation of an assigned volunteer docent.
Groups are limited to 12 people per docent, with a maximum of 36 people (3 groups). Classrooms and school clubs are accepted, with 1 chaperone required per every 8 kids.
Payment is required. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the tour to check in.

No outside food or drink are allowed, except bottled water. We offer snacks and beverages at the Gift Shop for purchase that can be enjoyed in the Garden.

Private Workshops:

From cultural experiences like ikebana and calligraphy to health and wellness sessions such as aikido and shinrinyoku, there's a diverse range to suit every taste. Perfect for office team building or school groups, our workshops offer a unique blend of learning and enjoyment.
Collaborate with us to discover the perfect workshop for you and your group. Prices may vary based on the chosen experience.
Please note that we are unable to fulfill all tour group inquiries due to availability and other logistical considerations. We will do our best to accommodate your group, but we cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled. We recommend that you submit your tour group request at least 2 weeks in advance to increase the chances of availability.
