The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix invites residents to its forth Annual Bonsai Exhibit sponsored by Scottsdale Bonsai Society, Phoenix Bonsai Society and Nakama Bonsai Kai.

There will be a "Bonsai Raffle" and we will be raffling off beautiful Bonsai!

Raffle tickets will be on sale for $20 each and there are only 30 raffle tickets available for each Bonsai. Get yours before they all go!

As part of winning your very own Bonsai we will include educational support on how to care for your Bonsai straight from an expert.

Drawing will be during our Holiday Jazz & Wine event on December 16.

The word “Bonsai” is a Japanese term, which translated as “planted in a container.”

This art form is derived from an ancient Chinese horticultural practice, part of which was then redeveloped under the influence of Japanese Zen Buddhism. It has been around for well over a thousand years.

This year we will be joining our Bonsai exhibit with another piece of Japanese artistry, pottery and Ikenobo (traditional flower arrangement) display.

Not only will beautiful and authentic Arts be displayed by enthusiasts and talented artists, visitors will also learn about the philosophy of Bonsai, Pottery and Ikenobo Ikebana and their cultural background, history, making process, how to create, and much more.

Enjoy beautiful Bonsai and Raku arts that embellish the serenity of the strolling Japanese garden in the middle of downtown Phoenix.
