Public Tea Ceremony

The Japanese Friendship Garden sponsors authentic tea ceremonies for the public on the second Saturday of each month that the garden is open.

The ceremonies are presented by tea volunteers, wearing beautiful kimonos, in the teahouse on the garden grounds.

Guests are met at the entry gate and conducted to the teahouse by a docent who explains features in the tea garden and other interesting facts about the teahouse itself.

Our schedule is as follows:

  • 9:30 A.M. arrival     10:00 A.M. ceremony
  • 10:15 A.M. arrival   10:45 A.M. ceremony
  • 11:00 A.M. arrival   11:30 A.M. ceremony
  • 12:30 P.M. arrival   1:00 P.M. ceremony
  • 1:15 P.M. arrival     1:45 P.M. ceremony

Admission:

  • General    $22
  • Senior      $18

Private Tea Ceremonies

By reservation only. A minimum of 10 guests are required. Cost is $25 per person. This price includes docent guided tour and tea for your private group.
